Jane Cody is a writer and historian who has spent more than four decades teaching history and biblical principles. Known for revealing hidden treasures in God’s Word, she writes with clarity and warmth, inviting readers to discover the beauty, depth, and astonishing unity of Scripture.
Her greatest joy is uncovering the treasures God has hidden within His Word and sharing them with others. Every discovery reminds us that the Bible is not merely a collection of books or doctrines—it is one magnificent story of God's covenant love, beckoning us to know Him more deeply.

My Story
I've loved God and His Word since I was a young teenager. Even then, I asked hard questions and refused to settle for easy answers. Time and again, God met every challenge with the truth of Scripture. His Word gave birth to my faith, strengthened me through every season, guided my steps, and revealed His unfailing love and mercy. Above all, it ignited a lifelong passion for His Word.
Looking back, I realize my passion for truth began even earlier. As a child, I knew my favorite stories—Winnie-the-Pooh, Peter Rabbit, and Dr. Seuss—were delightful, but make-believe. When I was six, my mother read me a book that sparked a lifelong passion. The author based her charming story on events from her grandmother’s childhood. I was amazed that some books contained true stories, and I knew I want to write them!
God answered that childhood dream in a way I never could have imagined.
My love of truth shaped my life. I devoured biographies, became a historian, and spent decades delving into Scripture. Not content to know what the Bible said, I wanted to understand why God chose these words, how each passage fit into His eternal plan, and what they continue to reveal about His heart today.
Life has held seasons of joy, seasons of waiting, and seasons of profound loss. Yet in every circumstance, God showed me His great love and faithfulness. For example, a house fire destroyed my first book, along with everything else we owned. I had just completed a handwritten final draft—this was before most people owned a computer—when disaster struck.
At the time I was devastated, but today I see things differently. God never wastes what is surrendered to Him. The pages were gone, but God quietly used the experience to shape both my character and my calling. The little girl who dreamed of writing true stories now has the privilege of writing about the greatest true story ever told—the story of God's redeeming love.
He gives me "...beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness." - Isa. 61:3
Searching for Hidden Treasures
In Luke, Jesus tells of a woman who loses a silver coin. After a careful search, she discovers it and is filled with joy. She can hardly wait to tell her friends to celebrate with her!
That's how I feel when I discover something new in Scripture. I want to tell everyone I know! When I discover a deeper layer of meaning hidden in a Hebrew word, a connection between an Old Testament feast and the life of Christ, or a pattern woven through centuries of history that fulfills Biblical prophecy, it fills me with delight.
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path - Ps. 119:105
I believe the Bible is one unified story of God's covenant love. The Old Testament is far more than law, history, psalms, and proverbs. It is the beginning of God's great love story—a story that stretches from Creation and the Fall through the Exodus and the prophets, continues with the life of Jesus, and culminates on the day when the Bridegroom is forever united with His bride.
The historical setting, the Hebrew language, the biblical feasts, the covenants, and the culture of ancient Israel all help illuminate that story. I don't study these things simply because they're interesting. I study them because they help us know the heart of God and His Bridegroom more deeply.
My Books
Every book I write is an invitation to discover another treasure hidden within Scripture. In my first published book, Birthing Eternity, I outline how vast historical movements over the last 600 years line up perfectly with prophecies in Daniel and Revelation.
In my most recent book, A Hebraic Look at The Milk of the Word, I explore the six elementary principles outlined in Hebrews 6. Together they form a framework for building spiritual maturity, one that is illustrated in the Exodus and Gospel stories.
Although the subjects are different, both books share the same heartbeat: That you would fall more deeply in love with God's Word, grow into spiritual maturity, and come to know your Bridegroom more intimately.
Beyond Writing
When I'm not writing or studying, you'll probably find me spending time with my family, tending my garden, enjoying music, or working on some creative project. These simple joys remind me that our Creator takes delight in us, His children, and the beauty our hands have made.
